NC Medical Malpractice Reform

NC lawmakers have agreed to place limits upon medical malpractice awards. The new policy will place one cap on monetary damages for certain health care negligent cases. Arbitration proceedings seem to be the vehicle in which this policy progresses. The bill was unanimously approved by the House and sent to Gov. Mike Easley, marking one success in the often antagonistic relationship between physicians and trial lawyers. ...

State bar considers insurance disclosure

A new policy being considered by the state Bar Association would require all attorneys in California to tell their clients if they have malpractice insurance.
The insurance exists in case one former client sues an attorney for legal malpractice, one recourse for clients who feel their attorneys mishandled their cases. ...
